Smoking Ceremony To Farewell Sonya After 21 Dedicated Years At The Park

As a farewell to our long standing staff member Sonya Watts, the multi award winning, Go Cultural Aboriginal Tours and Experiences held a blessing / smoking ceremony for Sonya for her journey to the next stage of her working career.  Sonya has dedicated 21 years to our clients and this organisation and she will be greatly missed.

A smoking ceremony is an ancient and contemporary custom among some Aboriginal Australians that involves smouldering native plants to produce smoke. This herbal smoke is believed to have both spiritual and physical cleansing properties, as well as the ability to ward off bad spirits.

The McGuire family business Go Cultural Aboriginal Tours and Experiences (Perth)  is a multi award winning cultural tours and events organisation that won Gold and Hall of Fame in 2021 [3 consecutive golds]. Their business is extremely successful and they are often overwhelmed with the demand on their services.  Hence, in 2021 they reached out to The Park Business Centre asking them to assist them by providing a personalised telephone answering service.  With our team of professional receptionists answering their telephone calls we enable Meg and Walter to focus on their core business which specialises in a wide range of products and services dedicated to sharing and preserving Perth’s Aboriginal cultural heritage. This is a fun, interactive and informative experience that gives guests an insight into the Noongar culture through storytelling and Walter’s own unique brand of humour. From smoking ceremonies to ochre paintings, the list of experiences are compelling.
